Our team of nationally certified personal trainers will help you reach your health and wellness goals, whether that is weight loss, improved posture, or increased strength and stamina. Our trainers will keep you accountable, motivated, and on track! The Y provides three personal training options to meet you where you are and support you meet your wellness goals.

Fresh Start Package

3, 45-minute sessions for just $99

An introductory package that will help you gain confidence and get comfortable in the fitness setting. If you’d like to continue after Fresh Start, you can work with a trainer through our Jump Start or Up and Running packages.

Up and Running Packages

Looking for someone to guide you, give you that push, and keep you accountable? Work with one of our personal trainers as your personal coach, establishing a trusted relationship with someone who knows when to push and when to pick you up.

Please note that a 5-session package must be used within 2 months, a 10-session package within 4 months, and a 15-session package within 6 months.

Jump Start Package

$380 for members, $460 for non-members

An alternative approach to personal training. Work with a trainer to create a program tailored to you and your goals. The trainer will listen to you, bring you through an evaluation, and design a program to push you closer to your goals. You will then schedule sessions with your trainer to work through your program before you work independently, following your program until you are ready to reconnect with your trainer for a fresh start. Maximum of 5 training sessions with trainer.

Our trainers are nationally certified and maintain extensive continuing education in a number of specialty areas. Whether you are looking to build strength, improve your posture, or expand your knowledge of exercise, any one of our trainers can help motivate you and keep you on track.

Jervaughn Scales

Jervaughn joined the Y’s fitness team in 2015 after a celebrated 20 year professional basketball career overseas. While playing professional basketball, Jervaughn gained valuable experience in coaching and motivating individuals towards their goals. Jervaughn now works with clients of all ages at the Y, and finds it most enjoyable to watch his clients exceed their health and fitness goals.

Nathan Bean

Nathan rejoined the Burlington Y’s fitness team after moving to Pittsburgh in pursuit of his personal training diploma through the National Personal Trainer Institute. When asked what he values most about the Y, Nathan responds that the time shared with the community and a chance to contribute to an already positive environment enriches his days spent at the Y.

Ali Palmer

Ali has been a fitness enthusiast in both a personal and professional capacity for 30 years. She is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor and fervently believes in the importance of the mental and physical health that a consistent fitness regime can provide. Ali enjoys setting goals with her clients and helping them to develop and maintain the persistence and focus necessary to achieve success — as well as having a good laugh. Ali is also a reading teacher for grades K-12 and she loves the frequency in which she runs into both of her sons during their workouts at the YMCA!

Alex Cruz

Combining principles of muscle building, postural awareness, and goal achievement, Alex believes in a wholistic method of training. Alex found inspiration to gain education on how to train others after having herniated two lower back discs. While unfortunate, this injury motivated Alex to learn! Alex believes in being a resource to his clients, and to help them build confidence. Whether it’s weightlifting with safe and proper form, or moving through life with greater ease and confidence, Alex is here to help.
 

Will Kruse

Will joined the YMCA team this past Spring after graduating from UVM with a degree in Exercise Science. He is passionate about helping others integrate exercise in a way that’s enjoyable and sustainable. He is especially interested in the link between physical and mental health and the integral role that exercise plays in reducing stress and naturally uplifting mood.

Sorine Cvitkovich

Sorine has a personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is finishing a degree in Exercise Science at UVM. She reflects her love of fitness through her passion for helping others reach their health and wellness goals. Sorine enjoys seeing the confidence that people gain in the gym, and how that positive energy spreads outside the gym. Whether you are picking up a weight for the first time or are more familiar with a weight room, she is happy to guide you towards where you want to be.
