Our trainers will keep you accountable, motivated, and on track! The Y provides three personal training options to meet you where you are and support you meet your wellness goals.

Fresh Start Package

3, 45-minute sessions for just $119

An introductory package that will help you gain confidence and get comfortable in the fitness setting. If you’d like to continue after Fresh Start, you can work with a trainer through our Up and Running packages.

Up and Running Packages

Looking for someone to guide you, give you that push, and keep you accountable? Work with one of our personal trainers as your personal coach, establishing a trusted relationship with someone who knows when to push and when to pick you up.

Please note that a 5-session package must be used within 2 months, a 10-session package within 4 months, and a 15-session package within 6 months.

Meet the Trainers

Our trainers are nationally certified and maintain extensive continuing education in a number of specialty areas. Whether you are looking to build strength, improve your posture, or expand your knowledge of exercise, our trainers can help motivate you and keep you on track.

Jervaughn Scales

Jervaughn joined the Y’s fitness team in 2015 after a celebrated 20 year professional basketball career overseas. While playing professional basketball, Jervaughn gained valuable experience in coaching and motivating individuals towards their goals. Jervaughn now works with clients of all ages at the Y, and finds it most enjoyable to watch his clients exceed their health and fitness goals.

Drake Evans

Drake is a UVM grad and an NASM certified personal trainer who embraces educational and artistic development, as well as the improvement of one’s physical capabilities. Exercise and resistance training has the potential to greatly improve quality of life, and in an increasingly sedentary world many may not know where to start. Whether you are a parent looking to keep up with your kids, or a weightlifter looking for more effective ways to train, Drake has the knowledge and the desire to help you achieve your goals.

Kelty Goodrow

Kelty is passionate about discovering the balance between concentrated, high-intensity activity and focused, flowing movement. Her goal is to use intentional, mindful movements to create healthy, sustainable habits for an aware and energetic life by combining breathwork, positioning, and posture with resistance training. With her experience in resistance training, competitive sports, yoga and meditation practices, as well as outdoor guiding, Kelty possesses the knowledge and drive to develop a program that aligns with you.

Jesse Singleton

Jesse Singleton is a certified personal trainer with a holistic approach to health and wellness, integrating physical fitness with yoga and meditation practices. Drawing from his background as a lifelong athlete, he understands the transformative power of movement. In his free time he enjoys staying active by biking, hiking and rock climbing. With customized programs tailored to your goals, Jesse is here to guide you on your journey to better health and longevity. He enjoys working with all ages and skill levels to build a foundational practice of movement.

Shayna Minsk

Shayna is currently a senior at the University of Vermont and believes that movement is medicine. Her favorite ways to move are through strength training, functional fitness, and yoga. She enjoys working with all populations and skill levels, helping others explore movement!
