Donor Advised Funds

Please do not mark the gift as “anonymous” when placing the order with your broker or we will not know who should be thanked and receive tax deduction information. Please do let us know the name of the stock to expect, number of shares, and any special instructions (such as your desire for the gift to be anonymous) by contacting Emily at [email protected] or 802-652-8159. To beat year-end tax deadlines, brokers recommend initiating the transfer at least a week ahead of Dec. 31.

Qualified Charitable Distribution

If you are 70½ years old or older, you can distribute funds from your IRA directly to the Y. Because the gift comes directly to the Y, it may be excluded from your taxable income up to $105,000 annually (with some exceptions). Please consult your tax advisor and consider a direct distribution to support families and community members at the Y!

Planned Giving

Heritage Club recognizes generous donors who ensure the health of the Y with a planned gift through their estate—through a will provision; through naming the Y as a beneficiary of a retirement fund or life insurance policy; or through other means such as trusts. If you are considering a planned gift—or have already made one—please reach out so we can recognize you as a member of the Heritage Club and discuss what you hope to achieve through the gift.
