Looking for a rewarding job? Train to be a lifeguard. Our comprehensive Lifeguard Training course includes accident prevention, lifeguarding techniques, emergency systems, and rescue skills. Course will also include the waterfront module, as well as CPR for the professional Rescuer with AED and First Aid.This is a blended learning class with 7-10 hours of course work that MUST be completed prior to the start of the class. We will also make use of ZOOM for a portion of the class. Upon registering, you will receive an email from the instructor with details regarding class & safety protocols.Prerequisites:– Minimum age: 15 years– Swim 300 yards continuously.– Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs.– Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. Dates: The class meets four days in June (June 20, 21, 22, 23) Time: 12:00-5:00pm Cost: Member $300 / Non-member $400
Are all of your certifications up to date? Test your skills to assure you can keep people safe in and around the water. This re-certification is only for those with a current certification. Per American Red Cross rules, those with an expired certification are expected to enroll in the full certification class.This offering is a blended learning class, where course work will be provided by the instructor to complete ahead of time and in-class portions will be in the pool. The instructor will be in touch regarding COVID-19 safety protocols. This class is for current lifeguards who are interested in gaining their Lifeguard Instructor certification. You must hold a current lifeguard certification (must be active for at least one year) and you must be 17 years old. This is a blended learning class, so you will have 3-4 hours of online course work that MUST be completed prior to the start of the class. Upon registering you will receive an email from the instructor, Eli, with all needed details regarding class.In addition to the online pre course work, there is an in-water skills pre course session at the beginning of day 1. This skills session is the same as the pre course session for the Lifeguarding course: a 300-500 yard swim and a timed event using a 10 pound brick.Dates / Time: TBDCost: Member $500 / Non-member $500
