Women’s Swim
Led by experienced Y swim instructors, women meet each week to learn how to be safe in the water and strengthen their swimming skills.
This women’s swim class is sponsored by generous donors. If you or your organization would like to underwrite a session, please contact Emily at [email protected].
Beginner: Participants become comfortable in the water, practice breath control, learn flutter kicking, and are introduced to front crawl arm movements. Swimmers will also work on back floating and the basics of other strokes. This session is designed for first-time swimmers and those who are still developing confidence and comfort in the water. 7:00-7:45pm
Intermediate: Swimmers build endurance, improve stroke technique, and develop rhythmic breathing. They will refine their front crawl and backstroke skills, be introduced to breaststroke and elementary backstroke, and practice treading water. This session is designed for swimmers who are comfortable in the water and can float and move independently but are ready to strengthen their technique and efficiency. 6:00-6:45pm
Lap Swim: This session is designed for swimmers who are comfortable swimming independently without instruction. Participants will swim in our lap pool, which ranges from 4 to 9 feet deep, under the supervision of certified lifeguards. 6:15-7:15pm
Cost: Free
Dates: December 6, 13, 20, 2025 and January 3, 10, and 17, 2026.
