Low Impact & Senior Programs

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, are looking to relieve arthritis pain, or just want to connect and have fun with your peers, these programs are a perfect place to start. If you are especially interested in activities that reduce stress on your joints, consider the water-assisted exercise programs offered in our pools (click here to learn more) — providing natural resistance and the ability to improve your balance, flexibility, and mood.

We do, however, stand ready to serve those looking for low-impact and senior programming. Senior Strength & Stretch

With the assistance of a chair for seated and standing support, increase your functional strength, improve joint stability, and ease into gentle stretches designed to enhance your daily living.

FREE for Members / $12 adult, $7 senior for Non-Members

Active Older Adults (formerly Silver Foxes)

This moderately paced aerobic exercise and muscle-toning program includes both aquatic and land-based exercise. Classes will improve breathing, flexibility, balance, and strength. Weights, cardio and balance exercise are incorporated into these workout sessions.

Moving to Heal

Heal your body through sensation and mindful movement that utilize the arts of dance, martial arts, and healing through this simplified NIA class designed especially for active older adults, seniors, and anyone who seeks healing of body, mind, emotions, and spirit. May be performed standing or in a chair.

Balance, Mobility & Core

Land-Based Class:  Improve your balance and mobility through a series of movements that will increase your joint stability, enhance your posture and form, and employ your core strength to help you achieve greater control of your body to support your active lifestyle, while reducing your risk of falls and fall-related injuries.

Tuesdays 10:30 – 11:00am Studio B

Water-Based Class:  Let the water of our warm Program Pool safely support you as you improve balance and mobility through a series of instructor-guided movement.

Yoga

Tai Chi

Gentle martial art that focuses on breathing and concentration. Appropriate for adults of all ages and fitness levels. Recommended to help ease arthritis pain.

Pickleball — Open Play

Come enjoy the fun of one of the fastest growing sports around. Pickleball can be enjoyed by people of all ages and all skill levels. Equipment is provided by the Y.

Cost: Free for members. Enjoyed by non-members with the purchase of a day pass.
