Greater Burlington YMCA CEO Dan Smith Honored in 2025 New Hampshire 200 List 

Burlington, VT – December 12, 2024 – The Greater Burlington YMCA is proud to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Dan Smith, has been recognized in the 2025 edition of the New Hampshire 200, a prestigious list compiled by New Hampshire Business Review honoring the state’s most influential business leaders.  

Dan Smith assumed the role of CEO at the Greater Burlington YMCA on December 1, 2024, bringing with him three decades of experience in nonprofit leadership. Prior to joining the Burlington Y, Smith served as the CEO of the Keene Family YMCA in Keene, New Hampshire, where he was instrumental in expanding community programs and fostering partnerships that enhanced the organization’s mission.  

The New Hampshire 200 list is an annual publication that profiles the state’s top business executives across various sectors, including education, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations. Smith’s inclusion in this esteemed group highlights his significant contributions to the nonprofit sector and his commitment to community development. 

During his tenure at the Keene Family YMCA, Smith led several initiatives that addressed critical community needs, such as affordable childcare services and wellness programs for all age groups. His leadership was marked by a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that the Y’s resources were available to everyone in the community. 

Upon joining the Greater Burlington YMCA, Smith expressed enthusiasm for continuing his work in Vermont. “I am honored to lead the Greater Burlington YMCA and look forward to building upon the strong foundation established here. Together with our dedicated staff and volunteers, we will continue to serve and strengthen our community,” Smith stated.
