Greater Burlington YMCA Names Dan Smith, of Keene, NH, its Chief Executive Officer
The CEO Search Committee and the Board of Directors recently announced the selection of Daniel “Dan” Smith of Keene, NH, as incoming CEO of the Greater Burlington YMCA, effective December 1, 2024.
Dan comes to our Y with 30 years of experience at non-profit organizations, including two YMCA locations – one in Cadillac, MI, and most recently in Keene, NH. Prior to his Y career, Dan launched and led a shared camping and retreat ministry and worked for Habitat for Humanity International. That latter experience took him to Papua New Guinea and Fiji, where he met his wife, Maggie. His family is looking forward to their relocation to Burlington. They already have a connection to the area via his Rotuman wife, Maggie’s, connection with other Fijians and South Pacific Islanders that they often visited prior to accepting this CEO role.
The Search Committee and Board firmly believe Dan is the right leader to build upon our successful history of putting mission into practice and taking our Y to even greater levels of impact. They invite everyone in our community to find time to join them in gratitude to celebrate our Interim CEO, Marsha Faryniarz’s legacy and warmly welcome Dan into our Greater Burlington Y family.
