Aquatics Schedule

Schedule by Day

Family Swim is by reservation and for Family Members only, and is limited to one reservation per day, per family. There may be a variety of family capacities during family swims, based upon other activities happening in the pool and/or lifeguard staffing.

SWIMMING AGE GUIDELINES

Ages 5 & Under: A parent/guardian must provide supervision — defined as being in the pool and within arm’s reach.

Ages 6-9: May be in the pool alone if they have passed the swim test and a parent/guardian is in the pool area. In-water supervision by parent/guardian required if child has not passed a swim test.

Ages 10-12: May be in the pool alone if they have passed the swim test and a parent/guardian is in the building. In-water supervision by parent/guardian required if child has not passed a swim test.

Ages 13-17: May be in the pool alone without a parent/guardian present in the building as long as a consent form is on file, but access to the deep end requires a swim test.

PROGRAM AND LAP POOL RULES

• You must shower before entering the pool.

• No glass or street shoes are allowed in the pool area.

• Please do not swim if you are ill — you may infect others.

• Always WALK on the pool deck.

• NO DIVING! The pool is shallow, spinal injuries can occur.

• Use of all equipment is at the discretion of the Lifeguard. Use of fins is not permitted for open swim in the Program Pool.

• Refrain from underwater distance swimming and breath-holding activities.

• No dunking, pushing, or rough play.

• Please supervise your children in the Splash Pad area, which is not lifeguarded. Children should use “inside voices” and may not climb on structures.

• The strip between pools is for Aquatics Staff ONLY.

• Be respectful of Lifeguards enforcing these YMCA policies. It is their responsibility to keep all swimmers safe!

• Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed and available for use.  Inflated flotation devices such as arm wings are prohibited.

• Children cannot swim alone with only a floatation device; a parent must be in arm’s reach at all times and not rely on floatation devices.

When Sign Up is required, registration opens 47 hours before the start time of the activity.

When you sign up for pool use or a spot in a Group Fitness class, you help us manage capacity in those areas. But when you sign up and don’t show up, you may be taking a spot someone else would like to have.

If you sign up for pool use or in-person group exercise class but cannot make it, you must cancel at least 2 hours prior to allow someone else to take your spot. If you do not, it will be counted as a “no-show.” Three no-shows within 30 days and you will lose your ability to register again for 14 days.

Let’s do this!

  • In Schedules, Sign Up for a time in the pool or a group fitness class. Reservations open 48 hours before time slot.
  • Keep your reservation commitment, and arrive a bit early for check-in with the lifeguard or instructor. It is the members’ responsibility to check in.
  • If you arrive late, you may lose your spot to a waitlisted member or walk-in, and be listed as a no-show.
  • If you arrive late and space is still available, check-in with the lifeguard immediately upon arrival, or with the instructor at the end of the group fitness class to avoid disruption. You are responsible for checking-in to prevent a no-show.
  • If you must cancel, do so at least 2 hours prior to prevent a no-show, and allow another member to enjoy that time in the pool or class.
  • If you don’t cancel, but don’t show up, it will be counted as a no-show.
  • If you cancel, but don’t cancel at least 2 hours prior to your reserved time, it will be counted as a no-show.
  • Three no-shows within 30 days and you will lose your ability to register again for 14 days (you may, however, continue to be a walk-in when space allows).
  • Waitlisted members are automatically enrolled for class once a spot opens up — so check your email for registration confirmations before class and be ready to join in if there are cancellations!
