Our trainers are nationally certified and maintain extensive continuing education in a number of specialty areas. AlexAlex Levine

As a Personal Trainer at the YMCA, Alex is passionate about helping individuals reach their health and fitness goals. Born and raised in Boston, Alex enjoys conversations surrounding all Boston sports teams, and commonly blends conversation surrounding sports with encouragement for his clients to dig deep during sessions — a dynamic that is unique to the Y!

• NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Specialist

• Masters degree in Sports Leadership

• Bachelors in Sport Management


JamieW Jamie Wagner

Jamie began working at the Greater Burlington YMCA in 2010 with a focus on helping clients improve their health through a holistic approach. Jamie believes that exercise can and should be an exciting part of everyone’s daily lives, and as such strives to make each session exciting, motivating, and engaging for her clients.

Jervaughn JerVaughn Scales

JerVaughn joined the Y’s fitness team in 2015 after a celebrated 20 year professional basketball career overseas. While playing professional basketball, JerVaughn gained valuable experience in coaching and

motivating individuals towards their goals. JerVaughn now works with clients of all ages at the Y, and finds it most enjoyable to watch his clients exceed their health and fitness goals.

KC KC Bruch

KC came to Vermont from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in pursuit of education in Exercise and Movement Science at UVM, and has continued her education now as a Doctor of Physical Therapy student. KC is glad to call the Y a part of her new home in Vermont, and says she loves watching her clients become strong and confident in the lifts they perform. KC seeks to help clients improve their quality of life, and commonly does so by programming functional movements like step ups into her client’s workout.

Gordon McFarland

Gordon has been involved with the YMCA for over 12 years, both in the Burlington community and in Denver. A long time runner, Gordon loves to demonstrate and help running-oriented clients perform running and skipping drills. Gordon is looking forward to the new Y facility and its increased capacity to engage a larger portion of the community.

Megan2 Megan Kiernan

Megan grew up in Vermont and became a member of the Y in 2006. Exercise has always been a passion for Megan, and working at the Y has given her the opportunity to share that passion with others. Megan believes that true health is at the intersection of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. As a mental health counselor and personal trainer, Megan loves to help individuals find the healthiest version of themselves. Megan is excited that the new Y facility will make fitness and wellness more accessible to everyone.

Cameron Miller

Cameron began working at the Y because he felt the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility aligned well with his personal values. Cameron has found the Y to be a welcoming place for all individuals to come for a great workout, and enjoys assisting his clients in gaining independence when it comes to working out. Cameron believes the Y is the perfect place to establish lifelong healthy habits.

Ryan Grey

Ryan originally began working at the Y while finishing his bachelor’s degree at UVM in Exercise and Movement Science. Inspired by the Y’s mission and community engagement, after graduation Ryan pursued full time employment at the Y. During training sessions, Ryan aims to motivate clients to push themselves beyond their perceived limitations and ultimately closer to their health and fitness goals.

Nathan Bean

Nathan rejoined the Burlington Y’s fitness team after moving to Pittsburg in pursuit of his personal training diploma through the National Personal Trainer Institute. When asked what he values most about the Y, Nathan responds that the time shared with the community and a chance to contribute to an already positive environment enriches his days spent at the Y.
