A.W.A.Y. Program/Visiting

Visiting the Greater Burlington YMCA

The Greater Burlington YMCA participate in the A.W.A.Y. Program and also My Y is Every Y.

Through the A.W.A.Y. Program members of other YMCAs are welcome to use the Pomerleau Family YMCA, 3 times in a calendar year for free.

Through the My Y is Every Y program all YMCA members from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont (except for West Suburban Y of Newton) are welcome to visit for FREE with no restrictions, just bring your membership card and a photo ID.

A.W.A. Y. Program

Always Welcome At the Y

When you join the Greater Burlington YMCA you are automatically enrolled in the AWAY Program. The A.W.A.Y. program allows YMCA members travelling outside of their hometown to utilize other YMCA facilities across the country. Members are welcome at participating Ys across the country and even abroad.  With over 2,600 YMCA locations across the country, there is surely one you can access wherever your travels take you.  A reduced guest fee may apply, so consult the Y that you are visiting.

My Y is Every Y 

Welcome Everywhere in New England!

Your Greater Burlington YMCA membership card provides you free access to any YMCA membership facility in New England.  All YMCA’s in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts*, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont, will welcome you -free- with your current YMCA ID card and a photo ID. Some restrictions may apply so please check the website of the Y you plan to visit and look at their My Y is Every Y page.

*Non Participating Y’s:

  • Martha’s Vineyard not between Memorial Day and Columbus Day
  • West Suburban Y of Newton

Guest Passes

Members can bring a guest 3 times a year for free. After that guests are welcome to get our day passes- see prices on the Types and Rates page.

Orientation

All new members receive a free New Member Orientation with a staff member. If you recently joined, but haven’t scheduled your orientation stop by Member Services to schedule a time that works for you. During your orientation you can discuss your goals, learn more about the Y, take a tour, get oriented to any of our equipment, or learn some new exercises. If you’d like to talk further withe one of our program directors about aquatics programs, group fitness classes, family programming, or any others just let us know and we will put you in contact with them. We want you to be successful and are here to support you.
