Winooski Swim Team
The Winooski Summer Swim Team is part of the Champlain Valley Swim League and the Vermont Swim Association. The program operates during the summer only, swimming out of the Myers Memorial Pool in Winooski (40 Pine Street). We focus on developing a love of swimming and positive team spirit. Jacsen graduated from UVM in 2005. He grew up as a competitive swimmer on the south side of Chicago and had the opportunity to swim each summer at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor under the direction of Jon Urbanchek. He has been working in aquatics as a guard, instructor and coach for 19 years. He just finished his eighth season as the Head Coach of Dynamo Swim Team at the Greater Burlington Y and is excited for his eighth season as the Winooski Head Coach!
Ellyse Fredericks– Assistant Coach
A former swimmer of Dynamo and Winooski teams. Currently studying at the University of Vermont as a Junior. Along with coaching she teaches swim lessons and guards at the YMCA and this will be her sixth summer coaching with Winooski.
Cameron Miller– Dryland Head Coach
Cameron has been the Dryland Head Coach of the Dynamo Team for the past 3 years and has begun coaching in-water practices this past year after a 2 year apprenticeship. He is passionate about teaching nutrition and mental health and wellness as part of a holistic approach to land training and exercise. He has advanced experience and skill in supporting swimmers with injuries and physical therapy needs to continue engaging in training. He is currently in his last year of school at Champlain College. He is excited for his first year with the Winooski team.
Amer Mujezinovic- Assistant Coach
Amer Mujezinovic was born and raised in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He swam, did track and field, played volleyball, handball and basketball for his High School. Amer moved to the US and finally settled in Burlington VT in 2009. He has two boys (8 and 11) that are part of Dynamo and Winooski Swim Team. This will be his fourth summer with Winooski Swim Team.
Sue Shoff– Assistant Coach
Sue graduated from Boston College in 1987. She has been working in Aquatics for over 35 years, as a lifeguard, swim instructor, assistant coaching, head summer league coach, head youth development coach in various communities. She fell in love with swimming at her hometown YMCA at the age of 5 and 50 years later still swims and loves watching swimmers develop! She has coached at La Jolla YMCA (CA), Ridgefield Aquatics Club (CT), Ridgefield Community Center (CT), South Shore YMCA (MA), Ridgewood YMCA (NJ) and presently with the Dynamo swim Team at the Greater Burlington Y. Sue has been married for over 30 years to her amazing husband, Steve and they have two incredible kids, MacKenzie, 24 and Nick, 27. This will be Sue’s first year with the Winooski Swim Team.
Wren Pyle- Assistant Coach
Wren is a student at the University of Vermont studying Exercise Science. Wren was a swimmer for over 13 years and enjoyed the 100 butterfly the most. After retiring from swimming Wren has moved on to competing in Ultra-Marathons and alpine adventures. She is looking forward to her first season with Winooski.
