EvoKids Yoga  (To be rescheduled with fall 2020 dates.)

This upbeat, active yoga class from Evolution Family Yoga will blend yoga poses, games, and mindfulness with great music and tons of fun. Yoga is perfect for combating the extra sitting that comes along with online school days – stretching muscles and building strength is crucial for helping with core strength and posture in developing bodies. Afterschool yoga helps kids let go of the stress of the school day and get their bodies moving while learning tools to improve focus.

American Sign Language (To be rescheduled with fall 2020 dates.)

Through this specialty class, kids will watch (using their eyes instead of their ears) and respond (using their hands instead of speaking) as the teacher guides them in discussing their likes and dislikes, things that are happening in their lives, and creating invented characters that help students learn basic vocabulary. This is not book-based language learning. Kids only need to show up ready to pay close attention for 1 hour and participate in helping the group move the conversation, games, songs and fun forward! (Instruction given in English and ASL).

Open for students in grades 2-8.

Martial Arts (To be rescheduled with fall 2020 dates.)

For over 50 years, Villari’s Self Defense & Wellness Center has taught the art of Shaolin Kempo Karate. Students at the Y will learn sportsmanship, confidence, improve hand-eye coordination, and learn life safety skills while obtaining the best physical workout you can get! Students are taught to want to do their best and respect others as they become stronger and smarter.
