Quickstart Tennis and Gym Games!!

This super fun class has a get strong and mix it up theme! We’ll strengthen out bodies and sharpen our locomotor skills with lots of activities and games. Kids will practice tennis skills using scaled down equipment while playing indoor games using colorful props, pop out nets and targets for half the class. The other half we’ll use jacks, bottle caps, real “Spaldeen” balls and more for awesome games like “Flip the Stick”, handball, five corners, and lots more!

Grades: K-4

Young Rembrandts Drawing Class

Young Rembrandts artists will draw ALL NEW lessons this winter. Colorful pop art dog, incredible relevant art history and a powerful unicorn are just a few of the drawing’s they’ll learn and LOVE. Good color selection, proper technique will be emphasized in all of our lessons. Don’t waste any more time… enroll your child today!

Flip, Dance and Circus

New session, new dances! Like to Hula Hoop? We can use them in a dance and other fun activities and games! This class is appropriate for both returning students and newcomers alike, and will keep kids moving while getting strong. We’ll have fun learning circus arts to music including “Cirque du Soleil” while we spin plates, juggle scarves, balance feathers and LOTS MORE! We’ll merge our new skills for a GymShow at the end of the session for family and friends.

Cheer Team

Cheer and tumble! Great team experience! No Stunting! Get Strong!

What can your body do? How strong can you get? This exciting program promotes fun, self-awareness, and community involvement! Cheer Team participants will learn dance, poise, arm motions, jumps, chants, cheers and mat skills. No stunts. They will learn of perfect round-offs, all kinds of cartwheels, and flexibility! They will also learn teamwork by forming groups to develop cheers. All moves are appropriate, and cheers are sharp looking, yet easy to learn.

Students will practice each week and will perform at public events such as area sporting events, games, and more! We will get to be spooky cheerleaders at the GLOW RUN in October! Outreach to other is an important part of our work and we will perform at nursing homes around the holidays. We will also perform at the Jingle Bell Express! Do you have an idea for an event? Pom-Poms are available for use during the games and events. There will be a team banquet at the end of the session.

Ages: Cheer team is open to children in surrounding towns, 5-11 years old

When: Thursdays until December 14 (Session 2 starts in January, 2018)

Time: 6:15-7:30pm

Where: Founders Memorial School at the gym in Essex

Cost: $ pro rated

Requirements: Parents/Guardians will need to complete and sign a waiver prior to the start of class. Participants will need to provide their own black bike shorts, black long sleeve shirt, white sneakers and white socks. Uniforms can be purchased (but not required) for $39 which includes skirt, shell, and bow. We will measure for uniforms on the first night.
