Learn the skills necessary to become a great leader by working with youth in a fun environment, gaining valuable skills and job experience. Leader in Training (LIT) programs are offered at several Camp Koda locations and Camp Greylock. Participants work alongside counselors and under the direction of the program supervisor.
Interested teens are asked to complete an application and provide two written references. Interviews will take place upon receipt of a completed application. Please find more information about the LIT programs at these camps below.
Leaders in Training Program
The purpose of the LIT program at Camp Greylock is to build communication skills, management skills, and decision making skills for campers 12-14 years of age. They must be entering 8th grade in the fall of 2018. LIT’s will develop their leadership skills through observation, mentorship, and implementation. The applicant must enroll for 2 FULL weeks of Camp Greylock. These weeks do not have to be consecutive.
LIT’s in their first week will observe and be mentored by Greylock Staff to grasp the daily routine and accountability of one that is a part of the team. After their first week the LIT will sit down with the Camp Greylock Director to self evaluate their first week and create goals for their second week. Goals may or may not include: To lead a lesson during a program activity or to be the leader of a specific age group and follow the set schedule. Once goals are set the Camp Director and appointed staff will mentor the LIT to ensure he/she receives as much guidance as possible for a successful 2nd week.
Rates for each week will be $125 for the LIT program
