Camp Koda Dates and Fees
Dates: June 25 – August 17, 2018 (7 or 8 one-week sessions, depending on location)
Days: Monday- Friday
Cost: $165 for 3-day session, $210 for 5-day session
Activities offered each week this summer will take inspiration from the Wonders of the World! Campers will have the opportunity to learn about the natural and man-made wonders found in various countries around the world. They will participate in enriching activities based on the wonder and country of origin of the week. Refer to the weekly themes and sample activity listings below for more information. *Please note that these are suggested activities; trips and curriculum are published to enrolled families a week prior to camp with a welcome message from the site director.
|1||June 25-29||Great Wall of China||Join us to learn about Asian culture and food. Create elaborate origami and play games such as Catch the Dragon's Tail.|
|2||July 2-6 (2 or 4 day option only)||Leaning Tower of Pisa Italy||Test your hand at Fresco painting; make and race your own Gondola boats; play games like Regina Regina Belle (the Italian version of Mother May I).|
|3||July 9-13||Great Pyramids of Giza Egypt||Learn about the ancient art of pyramid construction; create secret messages using hieroglyphics; learn about and complete mummy-themed crafts.|
|4||July 16-20||Great Barrier Reef Australia||Play Aboriginal games such as Down-Down. Learn about Koalas and explore the ocean life in the Great Barrier Reef.|
|5||July 23-27||Grand Canyon Arizona USA||Find out about Native American tribal culture and work on desert crafts. Travel back in time to play games and see what it was like to live in the Wild Wild West.|
|6||July 30-Aug 3||Machu Picchu Peru South America||Discover the animals and plants that make up a rain forest. Do some basket weaving along with Incan art and culture.|
|7||Aug 6-10||Eiffel Tower France||Speak French; make (and eat) crepes; learn and create Monet-like picture to grace your walls.|
|8*||Aug 13-17||Taj Mahal India||Practice Bhangra dancing and play some cricket all while drawing mandalas and rangoli patterns. Expand your learning about India and the symbols they cherish.|
*Week 8 is only available at certain sites pending confirmation of the start of the 2018-19 academic school year.
