Each member of our staff is hired after extensive interviews and background checks. Counselors are chosen for their understanding of boys, emotional maturity, and moral values. Every staff member serves as a positive role model for youth. Staff are recruited from around the country and around the world, providing campers with an opportunity for an intercultural experience while staying close to home.
Our staff participate in an intensive, week-long staff training program includes instruction in group dynamics, skill development, behavior management, and safety. In keeping with adopted policies of the YMCA, all staff also receive training in how to prevent, identify, & report incidents of child maltreatment. For a list of available positions, see below.

All positions are residential and include Room & Board, except those noted with an (*). Non-residential staff may have the option to live on camp.
+The 2015 Camp Abnaki contracts begin June 6 for 10 week positions and June 14 for 9 week positions. The last day of the season is August 17. There are also a limited number of staff positions available during the Spring and Fall group rental season. Contact the camp office for more information.
Additional salary may be given for certifications beyond minimum requirements (Lifeguard, program instruction certifications, etc.). Contact the camp office for details.
