Underhill ID After School Enrichment
Please take a look at these engaging afterschool opportunities. Your child does not need to be enrolled in the Y’s afterschool program to enroll in these activities.
All classes are open to students at UID and UCS. UCS students will ride bus afterschool to UID. Parent pick up is at UID. There is no late bus back to UCS.
Reach out to Katelyn Irwin, the Y’s Youth Development Coordinator, at 652-8153 if you would like to learn about potential financial assistance.
Please pack a healthy snack for your child that is attending an afterschool enrichment.
Me Power for UCS and JES Parent’s K, 1, and 2
School will start soon, are you struggling with ….
- Will my child have a good year? • Will he make good friends? • Will she be coerced into doing things she knows are wrong? • How can I protect his innocence — what might he see or hear? • How can I give her the skills to stand up for herself or get out of those situations?
You want your child to be happy and safe. You know they need the skills to navigate difficult situations.
You want to help your child be confident and be able to cope with today’s many stressors.
Deb Chisholm’s Me Power™ is an innovative program that she created to help children be authentic and confident, even under stress. When children use their Me Power, it makes all the difference in challenging situations (confusing friendships, bullying, teasing, etc.). Parents will learn the basics of Me Power (Assert, Beliefs, Courage) and will leave with concepts and skills they can immediately apply.
In addition, participants will focus on 2 key processes for children to use their heads and act from their hearts (Me Power in action). The 1-2-3 Me Power strategy is a proven method for kids to use their Me Power. This prepares them to do what is right for them when confronted with a challenging situation. Secondly, you learn about Growing My Way-Growing Your Way: a kid-friendly conceptual framework for understanding and accepting differences (one of the root issues in mean and bullying behaviors).
A strong emphasis is placed on action planning and application!
