Please take a look at these engaging afterschool opportunities. Your child does not need to be enrolled in the Y’s afterschool program to enroll in these activities.

Do you want to explore another language?  Come learn German from a native speaker!  This class is playful and interactive, using storytelling, conversation, and songs to teach language skills and cultural exploration.  Students will learn basic German phrases and will have the opportunity to speak and engage with others.

When: Mondays, January 27th to March 16th

Time: 2:45 – 3:45 pm

NEW  FUN!  This session will get creative, with kids choreographing a dance to popular, appropriate music while we learn to follow counts and patterns.  We’ll work on basic mat skills and learn proper form for cartwheels, rolls, leaps and more!  Each week will have a SUPERHERO CIRCUS fun theme or activity that keeps you moving! We’ll use colorful, fun props like scarves, hoops, beanbags and more! Strengthening, dance, motor development and learning what your body and mind can do are the focus.  GymShow for family and friends will be on the last day of class, starting at 3:30 pm. Kids will receive a special surprise to take home!

POUND – Parents Welcome!!

POUND® is an infectious and energizing cardio workout that encourages participants to rock out to today’s music!  Adults are welcome to join this fun and exciting workout class with their child(ren)!

When: Thursdays, January 30th to February 20th

Time: 2:45 – 3:45 pm

Cheer Team

Cheer and tumble!! Dance!! Great team experience!!  No Stunting!!  Get Strong!!

Welcome Winter!!  This upcoming session we’ll perform at St. Michael’s College basketball with their college Dance Team, at hockey games and more.  All community building events are family friendly and fun for all!

This exciting program stresses fun, self-awareness and community involvement! What can your body DO? How strong can we get? Participants in Cheer Team will learn dance, poise, arm motions, jumps, chants, cheers and some mat skills. Learn or perfect moves such as cartwheels/roundoffs, and work on flexibility! You will also learn teamwork, play games, and form groups to develop cheers and dances!  Practice is weekly.  All moves are appropriate, and cheers/dances are sharp looking, yet easy to learn.

Outreach to others is an important part of our work, and we often perform for seniors and charity events.  Do you have an idea for an event? Let us know!!

Uniforms/bodysuits can be purchased if desired for about $50 for the skirt, shell and bow, bodysuit about $16. All kids will need black shirts/shorts/leggings,white socks/sneakers.  There are also package deals that include everything for a reasonable price.
