The Y is currently hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician to work closely with the Facilities Director in maintaining repairs, the pools, general maintenance, and operation of our very old building in downtown Burlington.

In this role, you’ll be primarily responsible for general building repairs, managing the chemical levels in the pools and hot tubs, maintaining GHS compliance, developing and monitoring safe practices, managing inventory supplies, and general maintenance of the facility.

The ideal candidate will have a pool certification or the ability to obtain a certification, be organized, demonstrate safe practices, have a strong understanding of common sense, and a working knowledge of building systems including boilers and HVAC.


-Pool certification or ability to obtain is required.

-Must have reliable transportation.

-Perform efficiently, professional and successfully under minimal supervision.

-Demonstrate independence and dependability.

-Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

-Possess strong sense of common sense

-Understand safe practices, identify hazards and prevent accidents from occurring.

-Ability to use tools and power equipment effectively and safely.
