The Greater Burlington YMCA provides a diverse organization of people of all ages joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of youth, healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. As a Y employee, you’ll be inspired to make a difference each day in a position that matters. With a strong mission and core values, we offer a cause you can participate in.

The Y offers onsite childcare to all members for use during operational hours.   Members can register children ages six (6) weeks to ten (10) years with Drop-in Childcare to ensure care during the hours in which they choose to use the Y facility.  Drop-in Childcare ensures a safe and nurturing environment with age-appropriate activities based upon the participants that day.

Currently, we’re seeking a part-time Childcare Assistant to work with the team on Thursday – Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

This opportunity may be combined with other Y early education opportunities pending the appropriate experience and qualifications according to Vermont State Licensing and Regulations.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least one year of childcare experience from infants to school age.
  • Demonstrate a nurturing and patient demeanor.
  • Provide friendly guest service to all members, participants and staff.
  • Follow general childcare guidelines.

The Y offers all employees a free facility membership.  Additional benefits and perks may be available including paid time off, childcare, camp and program discounts, health and dental insurance and a 403(b) savings plan.

Please send your cover letter and resume to hr@gbymca.org for employment consideration.
