The L.I.T. program prepares youth
ages 13-15 for the role as a leader. Working in our after-school programs
and our summer camps, L.I.T.’s learn the ropes of working with school-age
children from seasoned YMCA staff. Teens that are interested in working
with young children go through the real life process of applying for a job,
including requesting references, filling out a job application, and
conducting an interview. Once accepted into the program they are placed at
a site to learn about working with young children. Over the course of their
commitment they develop the necessary skills to work with young children,
learn to be a role model, and gain valuable professionalism skills.
If you are
interested in our 2006-2007 L.I.T. Program and would like some more
information please contact the YMCA at 862-9622 ext 130.
Registration is rolling and the program is available
throughout the school year.
