In 1987, a good friend of mine won a Y swim class and passed it on to me and I've been a happy Y swimmer ever since. Imagine my delight when my daughter Stella Rose (now 9) became a mermaid as soon as her happy feet touched the program pool! The Y is her favorite place to swim--she chats up the lifeguards and happily maneuvers around the warm water swimmers (the more the better). Not to mention how much fun our whole family had at the Y Lake Swim this summer! It was a perfect day for an open water swim and all of our favorite Y staff members were there cheering us on.
