Everything the Y does is motivated by our promise to you of building a healthy, productive and happy community. Everything our staff does improves the lives of those around us, each and every day. But we don’t do it alone. We do it in partnership with our volunteers and charitable donors. We do it in partnership with you. We believe strong minds and bodies create a healthy community environment. Vermonters are lucky—we breathe healthy air, have access to nutritious food, and have ample opportunities to exercise safely and conveniently. The Y is a leader—our nutrition, food and fitness programs are exceptional and accessible. We level the playing field and provide everyone a fair opportunity to get in shape and learn the necessary skills to take care of themselves. Our community is smart—one of the best and healthiest in the nation—because it believes in the importance of a healthy community. We believe a child with a solid foundation becomes part of solid community. Each day, 1,100 children participate in safe, high-quality infant & toddler, pre-school, after-school and summer camp education programs at the Y. This means that children have the opportunity to develop intellectually, socially, and emotionally. The Y’s certified professional staff and programs provide a stable environment—an environment that provides critical developmental experiences and ensures that each child’s basic foundation is durable. When communities invest early in their youngest members’ development, they ensure future economic prosperity. A strong kid makes for a strong community. How you can support the Y.It’s true that we charge fees at the Y—membership fees, childcare fees and program fees. These fees help us do our work. As a not for profit, our fees are modest, and they are a direct investment in our services, programs, facility, and community. However, it’s your philanthropic support that truly helps us keep our children, teens, seniors, adults—everyone in the community—healthy and strong in mind, body and spirit. |
