Greater Burlington YMCA’s Character is in ACTION.
                                     We invest $500,000
in our community through scholarships, community partnerships, events and mission-based programs.

This means: The YMCA’s remarkable work gives people of all ages what they need to be healthy, caring, and responsible.  They have opportunities to attain their personal best whether they are one of the 1,300 children enrolled in Y early childhood or after school programs or an adult taking one of over 100 fitness, aquatics, and recreation classes each week.  What a privilege it is for us to watch them grow from who they are today to whom they will become.

This includes:
$218,000 allocated to scholarships for child care, aquatics, fitness & membership in 2007

25% of YMCA members receive fee assistance through our Membership for All program.

YMCA invests an additional $25,000 in high priority and mission-based programs and services in the communities we serve such as Kids Night Out, Midnight Basketball & Healthy Kids Day.

In addition to scholarships, we offer discounted tuition in rural areas and invest our financial resources to cover the total costs of these essential child care programs.  We do this because 58% of early childhood education parents report that they could not absorb even a 10% tuition increase (this equate to $15-20 per week).
