Character In Action Campaign

Why Support the YMCA?
Because when you support the Greater Burlington YMCA, you support the community. Everybody wins.

1. The YMCA is a charity of choice because:
YMCAs are a place to belong, where values are shared that unite our members: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
The YMCA mission is to build a strong community by involving youth, adults and families in programs and activities which develop spirit, mind and body.

2. What is the Character In Action campaign?
The campaign is the Greater Burlington YMCAs annual fund, providing children and their families the chance to make positive and healthy choices in their lives, regardless of their ability to pay.
YMCA programs promote self-confidence, increase self-esteem, and teach values for the future. Y kids grow up stronger and healthier.

3. Why does the YMCA have an annual fund campaign?
Annual fund gifts provide scholarships for individuals and families who want and need YMCA programs but cannot afford them.
"Membership for All" makes YMCA membership available to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
All YMCA programs whether its day camp, child care, youth sports, fitness, water safety, before and after school care, and summer camp should be available to anyone who wants to take part.

4. Are contributions to the YMCA tax deductible?
Yes, the Greater Burlington YMCA, like all YMCAs, is a charitable non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization providing services throughout the community. Your gift is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

5. Can gifts be made over the course of a year?
Yes, pledges can be paid monthly, quarterly, semiannually or in one lump sum later in the year. Please let us know if you would like a reminder.
