Parent/Child - For ages 6 months-3 years
This program promotes water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for children from 6 months up to 3 years of age and their parent.
Parent is in water with child.

Shrimp/Kipper (6-18 months)
Infant Swim Lessons Introduction level to orient infants and parents to an aquatic environment. Infant is introduced to basic water skills such as kicking, paddling, breathing and body control. Parents learn basic aquatic safety for their child while having fun through songs and games.

Inia/Perch (18-36 months)
Child will learn additional motor skills to encourage independent movement in the water with parental involvement. Use of visual and verbal clues.


 
For Children ages 3-5 years
This program develops fundamental swimming skills, water and boating safety awareness in children.

Parent Pike (3 - 5 years)
This class is designed for children and parents who would like to take a Pike class together. All the water adjustment skills of Parent & Tot combined with the swimming skills of Pike will be covered.

Pike (Beginner II)
Initial adjustment to pool environment and instructor. Children at this level are beginning to experience confidence in attempting to propel themselves through the water with and without the use of a flotation aid.

Eel (Intermediate I)
For the child with basic swimming skills who can swim short distances without assistance. Eels will develop confidence in ability to swim farther distances and learn simple arm and breathing techniques.

Ray (Intermediate II)
For the child who can swim 25 feet using front crawl, without flotation device. Skills include freestyle with rhythmic breathing, backstroke, sculling, butterfly and endurance swimming.
Starfish (Advanced)
Continuing practice of swim skills. Class is combined with Ray.

 

Adaptive Swim

 Individualized and group swim instruction for people with disabilities. Available to anyone ages 6 months old an up. Prices are based on one half-hour lesson/coupon and can be purchased any number at a time. The cost is $15 per 1/2 hour lesson ($25 for Non-members).

 

Private & Semi-Private Swim Lessons

 Private swim lessons are available for adults and children ages 6 months and older. Choose between one-on-one instruction (one instructor to one participant) or semi-private lessons (one instructor to two participants) The cost is $40 (Y Member: $20 for Private (1-on-1) lessons. For Semi-Private (2-5 max) the cost is $35 (Y Member: $15). For more information, call 862-9622.
